Custom Sunroof

Installing my sunroof
This is the procedure of my sunroof installation on March 29th of 2003.

The first step was to remove the headliner and get it out of the way.
You will need a phillps screwdriver and a T-47 Torx bit and pliers to remove the seatbelts and the colthes hanger and the visors and dome light. Then the panels can be popped out of place. As you can see in the picture that there is nothing in the way except for a brace that is only glued to the sheet metal in the middle and welded at the ends.
Step 2
Now that the headliner is out of the way and you know where you can place it you measure. I measured out about 6 inches from the windsheild and about two inches from the domelight brace. And you have to make sure its not at an angle or too far back or forward, this is the MOST critical part of the installation, The measurements.
Step 3
Cutting the sheet metal, My dad wanted to cut the metal because it was his works tool and not ours. Works out for me cause if he would have screwed up I could have made him fix it. Cutting wasn't the hard part though.
Halfway there
Looking at our work to make sure everything is ok.
Removing the brace
This is where we removed the brace now that the sheetmetal is out of the way, I used metal snips to cut them out about an inch from the hole.
Rough edges
Now since there is obviously going to be rough edges I used a dremel with a sanding bit. I smoothed the edges out and it started to look like I was doing very good.
